There were some things, the untrained ears of Europeans could easily identify: Birds twittering, the blast of a plane crashing or a herd of goats. But the words between the sounds were not that familiar: we were listening to Chinese Radio Features.
"Most importantly, you must touch the Heart of a Chinese audience“, said Li Hong from Beijing. She is the Director General of CNR Radio Society and the motor of the progress of feature productions in China.
The genre feature is relatively new for many of the 700.000.000 potential radio listeners in China, but enjoys increasing popularity. Also, thanks to a small but rapidly growing group of dedicated radio producers.
The other evening event considered the question: "Who dunnit?" And they had a specialist on that subject: Norwegian Radio Superintendent Nils Nordberg reported on how to kidnap listeners with crime stories. With his amusing talk about Radio-Thrillers, Nordberg from NRK has fueled a desire: That like Norway, other countries start broadcasting weekly thrillers!
With suspense, sharp dialogues and strong plots - and to witness the toughest of situations sitting safe on your sofa. What a calming and pleasurable feeling!
