Vorbemerkung / Preliminary remark
Der US-iranische Konflikt im Nahen Osten hat große Auswirkungen auf den Jemen und den Jemen-Krieg. Aufgrund dieses Konflikts verschwindet der Jemen erneut aus der internationalen Wahrnehmung. Wenn doch noch vom Jemenkrieg die Rede ist, dann sieht man oft nur eine Art Anhängsel zum US-Iranischen Konflikt. Dies basiert auf der Propagandageschichte, wonach die jemenitischen Houthis Stellvertreter („Proxies“) des Iran und die Iraner stark im Jemen verwickelt sein sollen. Beide Behauptungen sind Propaganda und keine Realität. Nachdem der Iran zu einem Hauptthema der Propaganda wurde, wird alles unter dieser (voreingenommenen) Prämisse gesehen.
Ausgangspunkt der gesamten Krise ist der Versuch der USA, die Kontrolle über den Iran, seine Ölressourcen und seine geostrategischen Möglichkeiten zurückzugewinnen (seit dem Jahr 1979, als der Schah gestürzt worden war). Saudi-Arabien nimmt an diesem Spiel teil, weil es seinen Hauptkonkurrenten um die Vormachtstellung in der Golfregion und der islamischen Welt loswerden will.
So werden nun die gesamte US-amerikanische Unterstützung für Saudi-Arabien, die milliardenschweren Waffenverkäufe, mit „Iran“ oder besser mit dem Propaganda-Buhmann „Iran“ gerechtfertigt. Was damit passiert, ist ein permanenter Zirkelschluss zwischen eigener Propaganda, der daraufhin verfolgten Politik, zurück zur Propaganda und so weiter.
Und der Jemen ist zwischen die Mühlsteine der US-Propaganda und der US-Politik geraten. Der Jemen ist nur ein Bauer auf im großen Schachspiel der weltweiten hegemonialen Agenda der USA, ein Opfer der US-Politik. Und die USA haben sich nie um ihre Opfer gekümmert, niemals.
The US-Iranian conflict in the Middle East has great impact on Yemen and the Yemen War. Because of this conflict, Yemen again even more disappears from international attention. If the situation in Yemen still is looked at, it often only is seen a kind of annex to the US-Iranian conflict. This is based on the propaganda story of labeling Yemeni Houthis as Iranian proxies and the Iranians as deeply involved in Yemen; both of these allegations are propaganda, not reality. Once having put Iran on the frontpage of propaganda, everything is seen through this (biased) lense.
Starting point of the whole crisis is the US attempt to regain control over Iran, its oil resources and its geostrategic opportunities (going back to 1979, when the Shah had been ousted). Saudi Arabia is taking part in this game, as it wants to get rid of its main rival for supremacy in the Gulf region and the Islamic world.
Thus, now the whole US support for Saudi Arabia, the many billion Dollar arms sales, are justified with „Iran“, or better with the propaganda bogeyman of „Iran“. What’s going on is a permanent circular reasoning between own propaganda, pursued politics, back to propaganda and so on.
And Yemen is caught between these rocks of US propaganda and US politics. Yemen only is a pawn in the great chess game of the US worldwide hegemonial agenda, a victim of US politics. And the US never cared for its victims, never ever.

An Iran War Would Destroy the United States
The establishment of a military force to go abroad and overthrow governments does not appear anywhere in the Constitution of the United States, nor does calling for the destruction of countries that do not themselves threaten America appear anywhere in Article 2, which describes the responsibilities of the President. Indeed, both Presidents George Washington and John Quincy Adams warned against the danger represented by foreign entanglements, with Adams specifically addressing what we now call democracy promotion, warning that the United States “should not go abroad to slay dragons.”
Since the end of the Second World War, the United States has proven to be particularly prone to attacking other countries that have only limited capability to strike back.
Iran just might prove to be a harder nut to crack. There has been a considerable escalation in tension between Washington and Tehran since the White House withdrew from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) in May.
Washington argues that its pressure on Iran is intended to force its government to end its nuclear program as well as its support for militant groups in the Middle East, where Iran, so the claim goes, is engaged in proxy wars in both Yemen and Syria. The arguments are, however, largely fabrications as Iran has no nuclear weapons program and its engagement in Syria is by invitation of the legitimate government in Damascus while aid to Yemen’s Houthi’s is very limited. And there is no Iranian threat to the United States or to legitimate American interests.
Given the size of Iran, its large population, and clear intention to resist any U.S. attack, military action against the country, which many in Washington now see as inevitable, would be by missiles and bombs from the air and sea. But it would not be a cakewalk.
All of which means that Americans will die in a war with Iran, possibly in substantial numbers, and the threat by Iran to close the strategic Strait of Hormuz is no fantasy. It has threatened to do so if its own oil exports are blocked after November 4th, even if there is no war. And if there was war, even if subjected to sustained attack, Iran would be able to threaten ships trying to use the Strait with its numerous batteries of anti-ship missiles hidden along the country’s rough and mountainous coastline
With the Strait closed in either scenario, oil prices would go up dramatically, damaging the economies of all the major industrialized nations, including the United States. Who is Donald Trump fooling on Iran?
I am not a stockbroker but if I was I would bet big against Donald Trump unleashing a war against Iran.
I mean he heads a country which needed half a million of its servicemen to tame a small Kuwait and prepared six months to arrange for its logistics. How would do you do against a large territory like Iran?
If anything a war would break up the United States. By mid-2020, oil prices would hit the roof. Insurance premiums on tankers would be prohibitive. Consumer prices of oil products would multiply. If oil prices exceed $100 per barrel, it would hit China, Europe and the US. If the oil prices are doubled, the US would be in ruins. It is the biggest consumer of electric power. It doesn’t matter where it gets its energy from, be it Texas, Siberia or Saudi Arabia: if it’s 150% per barrel, US is destroyed.
Then why the hell is the US tightening its screws on Iran? And Donald Trump is increasingly sounding like John Wayne with holster unbuckled?
The short and sweet answer is: Trump wants to stoke up fears in the Middle East so that it could sell its military hardware to Iran’s opponents and fatten up its GDP. It never wanted a war, it never would. If the US wanted a war, it wouldn’t be looking the other way as Iran continues to sell 300 million cubic feet of gas to Iraq. Iran’s sale of oil in the region could go up to two million barrels of oil daily.
The trouble is, Iran knows the game and is upping the ante: It has given an ultimatum to remaining signatories of the 2015 Pact either fall in line by July 7 and help preserve the nuclear deal or face the music. It’s a classic case of the hunter becoming the hunted. Trump has climbed up a tree but doesn’t know how to get down.

The US: The bully who cried wolf
A habitual liar cannot be believed even when telling the truth.
Did Iran attack the Japanese tanker Kokuka Courageous with limpet mines - as the United States claims it did on June 13? Does the video the US army produced indeed prove the accusation?
The US, Saudi Arabia, and the United Kingdom say it does, Iran says it does not, and others have expressed doubts. So, who is telling the truth? Iran or the US and its allies? And why does it matter?
The urgency of these questions is now a matter of war and peace, of life or death. After that accusation, the potential military confrontation between the US and Iran has increased exponentially.
As the US and Iran inch ever closer to a military confrontation, the question the world faces at large is who to trust, what to believe, where to place our critical judgement?
As of June 10, by Washington Post's estimates, "President Trump has made 10,796 false or misleading claims over 869 days." That is probably a dictionary definition of a congenital liar.
From Vietnam to Iraq, the US has systematically and consistently lied to advance its own warmongering objectives. But the US is not the only state that lies habitually.
Right now, the interests of the US, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) andIsrael all coalesce around targeting Iran and dismantling its share of regional power. Each one of these forces has its own internal reasons to wish Iran harm.
They, therefore, manufacture lies, exaggerate facts, take a smidgeon of truth and weave a long tale around it, all to turn Iran into a demon, the way they did with Iraq andAfghanistan in the past.
The US media is complicit in this charade. The Washington Post and the New York Times have stopped counting the lies Trump tells when it comes to the war with Iran.
The first casualty of war they say is the truth. That means all wars begin with a lie. Is the explosion of this Japanese tanker in the Gulf of Oman the lie that will result in yet another calamitous war in the region?
We see a ship burning and we read the story that the US imperial narrative ascribes to it and its media regurgitates. What actually caused that fire and what proof there is for the claim are all entirely irrelevant questions.
Three sources tell us Iran did it: the US, Saudi Arabia, and the UK. They all might be what we think them to be - habitual liars - but they might still be telling the truth that Iran did actually blow a hole in that ship. The problem is, as wise Aesop points out, "there is no believing a liar, even when he speaks the truth."
Let us take them one at a time.
None of this is to exempt Iran from being part and parcel of the selfsame scene and engaging in its own game of lies.

Trump incapable of obliterating Iran unless he plans to use 'prohibited weapons': Zarif
Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif says unless it resorts to using “prohibited weapons,” the United States is not in any position to “obliterate” Iran as President Donald Trump has recently threatened.
Speaking to CNN on Wednesday, Zarif downplayed Trump’s remarks and said Washington was “incapable” of acting on such threats.
“He’s certainly wrong,” Zarif said. “But that statement indicates that the United States’ intentions are certainly illegal.”
“The United States is not in a position to obliterate Iran, they do not have the capability other than using prohibited weapons to do this,” he added.

GULF STATES ARE PUSHING U.S. AND IRAN TOWARDS WAR, RUSSIA WARNS
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has warned that some nations in the Persian Gulf are pushing the U.S. and Iran towards a military conflict, and should instead focus on facilitating dialogue.
Speaking with journalists on Wednesday, Lavrov said a military conflict between Washington and Tehran would be an "international crisis" that would be "detrimental to both the Middle East and Africa," state news agency Tass reported. His comments came during a visit by United Arab Emirates Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Though he did not name any by name, Lavrov also suggested certain Gulf states were exacerbating current tensions. "The Arab states of the Persian Gulf could support dialogue in one way or another, instead of pushing the region towards the point when the use of force is possible," he said.

Western News Agencies Mistranslate Iran’s President Speech – It Is Not The First Time Such ‘Error’ Happens
Yesterday the news agencies Associated Press and Reuters mistranslated a speech by Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani. They made it sound as if Rouhani insulted U.S. President Donald Trump as ‘mentally retarded’. Rouhani never said that. The agencies previously made a similar ‘mistake’. […]
Despite the above and other explanations the false “wipe Israel off the map” translation never died. Years later it still reappeared in Guardian pieces which required it to issue multiple corrections and clarifications.
Now, as the Trump administration is pushing for war on Iran, a similar mistranslation miraculously happened. It were again ‘western’ news agencies who lightened the fire.
Absolutely incorrect. There is a word for “retarded” in Persian & Rouhani didn’t use it. Prior to him saying “mental disability” he even prefaced his comment by saying “mental weakness.”

Ayatollah Khamenei dismisses US offer of talks with Iran as mere ‘deception’
Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has dismissed America’s claim about seeking talks with Tehran as a “deception,” saying such an offer is merely aimed at stripping the Iranian nation of its “elements of power.”
“Having failed to achieve its goal through pressure, the enemy is coming forward with an offer of talks — while assuming the Iranian nation is simple-minded — and claims ‘the Iranian nation should make progress,’” Ayatollah Khamenei said.
This nation, the Leader added, will “definitely make progress, but [that will happen] without you and on the condition that you don’t approach it.”

Donald Trump möchte möglicherweise einen eigenen Atomdeal mit dem Iran aushandeln. Das unter Barack Obama unterschriebene Abkommen hat mit dem Rückzug der USA faktisch seine Bedeutung verloren. Trump droht Iran mit “Auslöschung”. Wo bleibt der Aufschrei? Wo die Konsequenzen?
Die USA gelten immer noch als unser Freund und Verbündeter, als Land, mit dem wir gemeinsame Werte teilen. Kann man aber mit einem Land befreundet und verbündet sein, dessen Regierung anderen Staaten offen mit „Auslöschung“ droht? Sind dies die gemeinsamen Werte, die man teilt? Würde die Bundesregierung es mit ihren Sonntagsreden von Anstand, Moral und gemeinsamen Werten wirklich ernst nehmen, müsste sie nach Trumps Drohungen Konsequenzen ziehen. Doch das wird nicht geschehen. Es gibt noch nicht einmal einen Aufschrei.
Doch warum gilt diese klare zivilisatorische Regel nicht mehr, wenn ein US-Präsident anderen Völkern mit Auslöschung droht? Das Trump-Zitat ist auch im Kontext unfassbar und sollte öffentlich doch zumindest ähnlich intensiv diskutiert werden wie die Zitate von Chruschtschow und Ahmadinedschad. Das ist jedoch nicht der Fall. Die deutschsprachigen Medien üben sich vielmehr in vornehmer Zurückhaltung und berichten im neutralen Nachrichtenstil ohne eine Wertung oder Einordnung vorzunehmen.
Auch von Seiten der Bundesregierung gab es „erwartungsgemäß“ keine Reaktion auf Trumps Drohungen. Ist das etwa der völkerrechtliche Kompass Berlins? – Von Jens Berger.

Trump und die US-Medien: Kriegsvorbereitungen im Telenovela-Stil
Wer auch immer Donald Trumps Iran-Politik und seine Auseinandersetzung mit den US-Mainstream-Medien in der jüngeren Vergangenheit verfolgt hat, rieb sich verwundert die Augen: Wurde der Mann, der den Iran-Konflikt seit Monaten systematisch verschärft, die schlimmsten Kriegshetzer in sein Kabinett berufen und wegen der Sanktionen gegen den Iran bereits Tausende von Toten zu verantworten hat, allen Ernstes plötzlich von seinem Gewissen geplagt…?
Und wieso stellten die Mainstream-Medien wie die Washington Post, die New York Times oder der TV-Sender CNN, die seit zweieinhalb Jahren keine Gelegenheit auslassen, sich als erbitterte Gegner Trumps zu inszenieren, den Präsidenten plötzlich in trauter Einigkeit als ein von humanitären Regungen geplagtes Individuum dar?
Die Fragen beantworten sich von selbst, wenn man bedenkt, dass alle Beteiligten denselben Herren dienen und einen Krieg wollen, sich aber gleichzeitig darüber im Klaren sind, dass es zuvor noch ein riesiges Hindernis zu überwinden gibt – die Ablehnung eines Krieges durch die US-Bevölkerung.
Da das in der amerikanischen Öffentlichkeit nicht gut ankam, schlagen Trump und die Mainstream-Medien nun ganz offensichtlich einen anderen Weg ein und bauen dabei auf die Erfahrung eines Mannes, der sich als ehemaliger TV-Star im Showgeschäft bestens auskennt: Sie inszenieren Trump im Stil einer billigen Telenovela als einen von seinem Gewissen geplagten Menschenfreund.
Dabei enthüllen US-Politik und Mainstream-Medien auf eindrucksvolle Weise, wie sehr sie trotz aller medialen Schaukämpfe an einem Strang ziehen, wenn es darum geht, die amerikanische Bevölkerung im Interesse der Finanzelite zu manipulieren.

Die russische Sicht: Wie das Fernsehen in Russland über den Iran-Konflikt berichtet
In der russischen Sendung „Nachrichten der Woche“ war auch der Konflikt zwischen den USA und dem Iran ein Thema. Wieder einmal zeigt sich, wie diametral unterschiedlich die Medien in Russland im Gegensatz zu den deutschen Medien über das Thema berichten.
Amerika schikaniert den Iran weiterhin und geht der ganzen Welt auf die Nerven. Am 20. Juni schossen iranische Luftverteidigungskräfte im Süden des Landes am Eingang zum Persischen Golf eine riesige US-Aufklärungsdrohne ab. Der Grund dafür ist, dass die Amerikaner den Luftraum der Islamischen Republik verletzt haben. Die Vereinigten Staaten sagen natürlich, dass sich ihre Militärdrohne im internationalen Luftraum befand. Auf jeden Fall hielt die Welt den Atem ab: Wird es einen Krieg geben?

Donald Trump hat bestätigt, dass sein oberster außenpolitischer Berater John Bolton die USA in mehrere internationale Konflikte verwickeln möchte. Doch der US-Präsident besteht darauf, dass er das letzte Wort darüber hat, ob amerikanische Raketen gegen den Iran fliegen sollen.

Machtkampf in den USA – Die Falken wollen Krieg mit dem Iran, Trump kämpft für Frieden
Der Machtkampf zwischen den Falken in Washington und Präsident Trump wird schärfer. Die Aussagen von Außenminister Pompeo und von Trump zum Iran könnten gegensätzlicher kaum sein.
Gleichzeitig versucht Trump, was viele kaum glauben können, auch verbal zu deeskalieren. Er macht dem Iran Verhandlungsangebote und vor allem spielt er die Vorfälle im Golf herunter. Er weiß genau, dass es die Amerikaner nicht verstehen würden, wenn ein Präsident die Interessen der USA nicht auch mit Waffengewalt verteidigen würde. Daran hat man sich dort gewöhnt, man erwartet es regelrecht und ein Präsident, der dazu nicht bereit ist, wird als schwach angesehen. Das kann sich Trump, der nächstes Jahr die Wiederwahl gewinnen will, nicht erlauben.
Daher definiert er derzeit einfach die US-Interessen neu

Insofern ist beim Verweis auf Parallelen zum Irak-Krieg Vorsicht geboten. Als der damalige Außenminister Colin Powell am 5. Februar 2003 im UN-Sicherheitsrat gefälschte Dokumente über irakische Massenvernichtungswaffen präsentierte, gehörte dieser Auftritt zu einer stringenten Dramaturgie der Eskalation. Für die Administration des Republikaners George W. Bush war ein Krieg alternativlos. Es durfte keinen Rückzug vom Aufmarsch geben, die Drohkulisse, die Truppenkonzentration, das propagandistische Trommelfeuer usw. – alles diente nur einem Zweck.
Finden sich bei der jetzigen US-Regierung Elemente dieses Tableaus, so fehlt doch das „algorithmische Prinzip“ von einst. Auch hinsichtlich der Kriegsziele ergeben sich signifikante Unterschiede zwischen Bush gestern und Trump heute.

The Trump government has taken steps that suggest greater US aggression against Iran could be in the offing.
US government hostility towards Iran has nothing to do with nuclear weapons. We know this because Iran does not have a nuclear weapons program and hasn’t been close to having one since at least 2003, if ever.
Understanding the actual reasons the US ruling class wants to destroy Iran requires examining the wider context.
Between the 1953 US-British coup against the democratically elected Iranian government of Mohammad Mosaddegh and the 1979 revolution, Iran was an indispensable ally of the US government in the Cold War against “Communism” and Arab nationalism, and the Iranian people were subject to the Shah’s US-backed torture state. It’s difficult to overstate how severe a blow Iran’s revolution was to the American ruling class; it would be roughly comparable to an anti-imperialist revolt toppling the Saudi state today or to the US’s Israeli cop on the beat going off duty.
Iran isn’t a threat to start a war with the US, but it has long been a threat to US ruling class domination of the Middle East.
US ruling class animosity toward Iran long predates the Trump presidency. The American state, unwilling to tolerate an independent government in the Middle East let alone one capable of thwarting US designs on the region, sponsored Iraq’s invasion of Iran almost immediately after the 1979 revolution, going as far as helping Iraqi President Saddam Hussein use sarin and mustard gas against Iran in 1988.
It’s far from certain that the Trump government will bomb or invade Iran, with the administration apparently split over whether to carry out this particular war crime.

Brian Hook, the US Special Representative for Iran and Senior Policy Adviser to the Secretary of State, said today that Iran has denounced the US diplomatic efforts for a dialogue to defuse the tension in the region.
The new sanctions, which will be announced "later today" are meant to encourage Iran to engage in dialogue, Hook told journalists
He also accused Iran of engaging in proxy wars in the region.
Hook added that when attacks by Houthi and Hezbollah militias in the region are reported, Iran’s name never comes up. However, those militias are supported and funded by Iran, therefore, the US will consider such attacks as perpetrated by Iran. "This is the US policy now," Hook affirmed.

Gulf Arab States Don’t Want a U.S.-Iranian War, and Could Help Avoid One
Caught in the crossfire already, Gulf Arab countries have an important opportunity to help shape the off-ramp from confrontation.
The U.S. withdrawal from the JCPOA returned the United States and Iran to a path of confrontation from which the agreement appeared to offer at least temporary respite. Neither side seems to want war, but both appear unwilling to engage in the compromises needed to move away from acollision course. Washington and Tehran, rather, have been pursuing measured confrontation and both seem to believe they are operating from positions of relative strength. Yet both may be underestimating the difficulties they face and are potentially misreading the signals and intentions of the other side.
While the United States is much the stronger party, its options are limited by self-imposed restraints stemming from war fatigue and skepticism due to long military engagements in Iraq and Afghanistan and from a lack of international support.
Iran clearly feels cornered. Its carefully calibrated campaign of violence and sabotage seemsdesigned to send a message of defiance, inflict some pain on regional and international actors, but avoid forcing Trump to take military action that he has made clear he would prefer to avoid.
While they frequently express support for the U.S. “maximum pressure” campaign, there is little evidence that any of the Gulf Arab countries relish the prospect of a military confrontation. They would be among the first targets of Iranian military action.
The Trump administration should prioritize ist fundamental demands on Iran and make them consistent and clear. An Iranian capitulation or regime change seems highly unlikely but the “maximum pressure” campaign, and even the current impasse, could yield compromises by Tehran if the United States – especially in coordination with its European, Gulf Arab, and Israeli allies – presents well-defined, stable, and reasonable terms for sanctions relief – by Hussein Ibish

Even here, the fact that the US intentionally had provoked this conflict simply is ignored. – The Nuclear Deal is international law – the US having broken it is a break of international law. All the rest is irrelevant compared to this fact. And this refers to all US demands exceeding this deal. – Anyway, the Trump administrations seems not willing to except any „compromises“ with rivaling states. Capitulation or regime change seem to be the only options for states not strong enough to resist the US – that means for all except Russia and China.

Insider-Account: How Iran Decided To Down A US Drone & Avert War By Sparing A Spy Plane
Iran averted all-out war in the Middle East at the last moment when the Central command and control operational room of its Army and the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) ordered not to shoot down a US Navy anti-submarine warfare, Intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance Poseidon P-8.
Unusually, there are 38 on board the P-8 aircraft which requires a crew of 9. There were a minimum of 6-8 officers on board (2-3 Col, 3-4 Lt) and the remaining crew likely held grades under Lieutenant. The plane was flying within range of Iranian missiles over Iranian waters when Iran’s central command and control received confirmation that the US would not go to war or hit any target in Iran.This took place following the Iranian downing of one of the most advanced US drones last Thursday. The drone had been violating Iranian airspace, according to Tehran authorities, who later presented the debris of the unmanned drone to the media. Iran had received confirmation through a third country that President Donald Trump would refrain from bombing any Iranian positions.
But how did war almost break out on the morning of June 20th, andhow did Iran decide to down a US drone?
According to the military officer, the “Iranian Central command and control issued a protocol to be followed by all command and control spread throughout the country, giving instructions to stop any violations of Iran’s sea, land and air territories. A warning is issued when the violation is identified, whether intentional or unintentional. The local IRGC command also informs the central command of the violation and, simultaneously, orders the intruder to adjust the course of its trajectory and identify itself.”

This is when the US drone was spotted leaving the Emirates and flying towards the Iranian coast, exploring the Gulf for around 4 hours. On its way back, when violating Iranian airspace, the base communicated with the drone and gave the usual warning. The drone responded by turning off its digital system, lights and GPS, indicating that it was a military object with either an intelligence gathering or battle mission.It was thus immediately classified as hostile and therefore a potential target. When it ignored repeated calls for identification, the central command of the air-defense position followed mission instructions and, in this case, decided to down the drone. Our radars could see the drone and the heat it was producing. A 'Third of Khordad' missile was launched to destroy the target immediately”.
“We decided not to down the P-8 Poseidon because we received confirmed information that no war is expected. Otherwise, we would not have hesitated to hit any US objective in the area, in the air, US military bases or the sea if the US military decides to hit us. The consequences would be irrelevant, and the blame for who started it and who is responsible will no longer matter. We will be at war”, said the general. Unusually the P-8 Poseidon, which normally has a crew of 9, was carrying 38 crew and officers on board.

Ever since Donald Trump took office and his conflicting impulses were applied to US foreign policy, a moment like this was all but inevitable.
One of those impulses is to restore American “greatness” by acting tough, and – in particular – reversing every agreement Barack Obama had made with the rest of the world. Throughout his presidential campaign, Trump had portrayed Obama as a weak president who – in his desire to please foreigners – had failed to put America first.
Trump’s other dominant impulse was to avoid the mistakes of all his predecessors by keeping the US out of costly and bloody wars in remote places, where the fighting ought to be done by local allies. He would bring the troops home, and “everything will work out”.
In Trump’s mind, of course, there are no contradictions.

Fake News für den Krieg
Erneut soll mit offensichtlich gefälschten Beweisen ein Krieg vom Zaun gebrochen werden — diesmal gegen den Iran.
Die USA machen den Iran für die Angriffe auf zwei Öltanker im Golf von Oman verantwortlich. Die japanische Rundfunkanstalt NHK berichtet dabei komplett andere Tatsachen, als die westliche Propaganda dies tut. Der dringende Wunsch einiger US-Hardliner nach dem Sturz der iranischen Regierung samt Fake-News-Kampagne bedrohen erneut den Weltfrieden.
Dass die USA, ihre Verbündeten und Medien trotz der Zeugenaussagen eine solche Haftminenpropaganda verbreiten, zeigt mehr als deutlich: Hier handelt es sich um eine False-Flag-Aktion, um einen Krieg mit Iran vom Zaun zu brechen oder zumindest erst einmal den Druck auf das Land zu erhöhen. Die USA müssen nicht zwingend Ausführende des Angriffs gewesen sein — in der Region gibt es genug Verbündete. Sie sind aber durch das Vorlegen der Falschbilder und gezielt falsch interpretierter Bilder samt dazugehöriger Propagandakampagne letztlich Hauptverantwortlicher dieser Aktion.

Willkommener Vorwand
Der Angriff auf Tankschiffe in der Straße von Hormus kommt den USA nur allzu gelegen, um Kriegsstimmung gegen den Iran zu schüren.
Nun haben sie, was sie wollten: Mit einem angeblichen Angriff auf Öltanker in der Straße von Hormus provoziert der Iran die kriegshungrigen USA — oder so soll es jedenfalls aussehen. Schließlich, so berichtet Tony Cartalucci, existiert bereits seit 2009 ein US-amerikanisches Strategiepapier, in dem erörtert wird, wie der Iran zu einer solchen Provokation gebracht werden könnte, um ein militärisches Eingreifen vonseiten der USA auf der Weltbühne zu rechtfertigen. Ebenfalls bereits in diesem Papier beschlossen waren der Entwurf des Atomabkommens und der Ausstieg aus demselben.
In ihrer Abhandlung von 2009, „Which Path to Persia?: Options for a New Strategy Toward Iran“ (auf deutsch etwa „Welcher Weg ist nach Persien einzuschlagen? Möglichkeiten einer neuen Strategie gegenüber dem Iran“; Anmerkung der Übersetzerin) räumt die von Konzernen und der Finanzwelt geförderte Brookings Institution zuerst einmal die Schwierigkeiten eines USA-geführten militärischen Angriffs des Irans ein.
Die Abhandlung legt dann dar, wie die USA vor der Welt als Friedensstifter erscheinen könnten — und wie sie den Verrat Irans an einem „sehr guten Deal“ als Vorwand für eine eigentlich widerwillige militärische Antwort der USA darstellen könnten.
Und seit 2009 haben die USA genau das angestrebt – angefangen mit der Unterzeichnung des Iran-Atomabkommens 2015 durch Präsident Obama bis zu Präsident Trumps Versuchen, sich daraus zurückzuziehen — unter dem fadenscheinigen Vorwand, der Iran habe seinen Part des Abkommens nicht eingehalten.
Das Strategie-Papier von 2009 zog auch in Betracht, den Iran zu einem Krieg „anzustacheln“. Die Brookings-Abhandlung gibt sogar zu, dass es unwahrscheinlich sei, dass der Iran in Washingtons Falle tappt.

Berlin begleitet die drohende Eskalation des Iran-Konflikts zu einem ersten umfassenden Cyberkrieg mit dem Bemühen um eigene Fähigkeiten für Cyberangriffe.
Ob und, wenn ja, wie Teheran auf die Cyberangriffe reagieren wird, ist noch unklar. Die iranische Regierung zieht rechtliche Schritte gegen Washington wegen der Spionagedrohne in Betracht, die laut ihren Angaben vor dem Abschuss illegal in den iranischen Luftraum eingedrungen war. Ansonsten halten iranische Stellen sich noch bedeckt. “Falsches Handeln” könne gravierende Folgen haben, wird ein Kommandant der Iranischen Revolutionsgarden zitiert: “Um einen Krieg zu vermeiden, wird reden alleine nicht ausreichen. … Man muss ihn auch nicht wollen und dementsprechend handeln”. Tatsächlich hätte Teheran westlichen Standards zufolge das Recht, den US-Cyberangriff per militärischem Gegenschlag zu beantworten.
Tatsächlich hat Iran in jüngerer Zeit durchaus umfangreiche Cyberkriegsfähigkeiten aufgebaut. Weil Washington einen iranischen Gegenschlag voraussichtlich mit neuen eigenen Angriffen beantworten würde, stünde in diesem Fall wohl eine unkontrollierte Kriegseskalation bevor.

Iran says the recent US cyber attacks against Iranian missile control systems have failed to cause any disruptions.
"The media ask whether the alleged cyber attacks against Iran did take place," Iranian Minister of Information and Communications TechnologyMohammad Javad Azari Jahromi said in a tweet on Monday.
"They try hard, but they have yet to carry out a successful attack," Jahromi added.

The cyberstrikes, which were approved by Mr. Trump, targeted computer systems used to control missile and rocket launches that were chosen months ago for potential disruption, the officials said. The strikes were carried out by U.S. Cyber Command and in coordination with U.S. Central Command.
The officials declined to provide specific details about the cyberattacks, but one said they didn’t involve loss of life and were deemed “very” effective.

Pentagon secretly struck back against Iranian cyberspies targeting U.S. ships
On Thursday evening, U.S. Cyber Command launched a retaliatory digital strike against an Iranian spy group that supported last week’s limpet mine attacks on commercial ships, according to two former intelligence officials.
The group, which has ties to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, has over the past several years digitally tracked and targeted military and civilian ships passing through the economically important Strait of Hormuz, through which pass 17.4 million barrels of oil per day. Those capabilities, which have advanced over time, enabled attacks on vessels in the region for several years.

Trump hat aber auch immer wieder betont, dass er keinen Krieg will. Tatsächlich gehört zu seinen vielen unerfüllten Versprechen, US-Truppen aus internationalen Konflikten abzuziehen.
Trump schien am Donnerstag selber nach einem gesichtswahrenden Ausweg zu suchen.
Dass der Iran auch nur einen begrenzten Militärschlag auf sich hätte sitzen lassen, ist unwahrscheinlich. An Möglichkeiten, im Fall eines US-Angriffs zurückzuschlagen, mangelt es nicht

Iran: US Drone Warned Several Times
Brigadier General Rahimzadeh said today that the operator of the spy drone of the US which was downed by an Iranian missile early on Thursday was warned multiple times for violating the airspace of the Islamic Republic, adding that the negligence of the operator left no option for Iranian defense units to shoot the craft down.

Die fatale Geschichte der US-Politik gegenüber dem Iran geht bis weit ins letzte Jahrhundert zurück und ist nicht alleine Ergebnis aktueller Entwicklungen.
Die gegenwärtige Zuspitzung folgt auf die wahrheitswidrig begründete einseitige Aufkündigung des Iran-Atom-Abkommens durch die USA.
NATO-Generalsekretär Stoltenberg stützt derweil indirekt das Vorgehen der USA, indem er beschwichtigend zur Einigkeit trotz Differenzen aufruft (2). Damit gibt er der US-Regierung für ihr Spiel mit dem Feuer einen Freifahrtschein.

Der Spiegel zeigt sich fast täglich als treuer Helfer der US-Falken und stimmt seine Leser mit durch Lügen, Weglassen wichtiger Informationen und psychologische Tricks auf einen Krieg gegen den Iran ein.
Und auch heute war es wieder so weit. Unter der Überschrift „Nach Abschuss von US-Drohne – Das sind Trumps Iran-Optionen – und keine davon ist gut“ hat der Spiegel seine Leser darüber „informiert“, welche Möglichkeiten Trump jetzt angeblich noch bleiben
Und raten Sie mal, welche Möglichkeit nicht genannt wurde. Die beste Möglichkeit, die Trump hat, wäre es, sich wieder an geschlossene Verträge und das Völkerrecht zu halten.
Und wie man sieht, findet der Spiegel die erste Variante, also abwarten und die Situation nicht weiter durch Sanktionen oder Bombardierungen zu eskalieren, nicht gut.

Warum? Trump sagt US-Angriff auf Iran in letzter Minute ab
Ich habe immer wieder berichtet, dass die Falken um US-Außenminister Pompeo und Sicherheitsberater Bolton Trump in einen Krieg treiben wollen, Trump dies aber nicht will. Ich interpretiere die aktuellen Meldungen als weitere Bestätigung dieser These.
Daher haben mich die Meldungen über eine abgeschossene US-Drohne nicht überrascht, es kam wie auf Bestellung zu einem iranischen Angriff auf ein US-Militärobjekt, also die Drohne.
Die USA behaupten, es sei im internationalen Luftraum geschehen, der Iran wirft den USA vor, den iranischen Luftraum verletzt zu haben. Was stimmt, lässt sich nicht überprüfen, aber da sich dieser Vorfall so logisch in die Kette der Ereignisse einordnen lässt, vermute ich eine Verletzung des iranischen Luftraums durch das US-Militär
Hinzu kommt der bevorstehende Wahlkampf, der Trump in eine Zwickmühle bringt. Einerseits präsentiert er sich gerne als harter Hund und müsste dieser Logik folgend den Iran notfalls angreifen. Andererseits will er keinen Krieg und auch die Amerikaner werden über einen neuen Krieg nicht begeistert sein. Egal, was Trump tut, es wird im Wahlkampf zu seinem Nachteil sein.

18. Juni: Das kommende Inferno
Maßgebliche Kreise in den USA wollen jetzt einen Krieg gegen den Iran forcieren, der die Region in Schutt und Asche legen würde.
Die Entwicklung im Mittleren Osten und im Iran war seit spätestens 2016 absehbar. Das kann man in meinem Buch „Schattenkriege des Imperiums – Der Krieg gegen den Iran“ (1) nachlesen, das 2018 erschien. Alle Befürchtungen sind eingetreten. Alle Abschätzungen stellen sich zunehmend als richtig heraus. Und US-Präsident Donald Trump befindet sich in einer Situation, die nach Meinung eines Teils der deutschen Systemmedien eigentlich nur im Krieg enden kann, wenn sich der Iran nicht unterwirft.
Die Frage ist: Wie viele Provokationen oder aber False-Flag Ereignisse sind von am Krieg interessierten Parteien nötig, um den Mittleren Osten in Flammen aufgehen zu lassen.

Präsident Trump hat am Montag ein Interview gegeben, das den Machtkampf in Washington aufzeigt, der zwischen Trump einerseits und dem „Apparat“ um die Falken Außenminister Pompeo und Sicherheitsberater Bolton läuft.
Trump gab dem Time-Magazin am Montag ein Interview, in dem er klar sagte, dass die Angriffe auf die Tanker für ihn kein Grund seien, militärisch gegen den Iran vorzugehen. Seine rote Linie sei erst erreicht, wenn die Gefahr bestehe, dass der Iran eine Atombombe bekommen könnte.
Ganz anders äußerte sich Außenminister Pompeo, der darauf bestand, dass die USA „die ganze Bandbreite an Optionen“ in Betracht ziehen, um auf die Vorfälle zu reagieren.
Trump hingegen spielte die Vorfälle sogar weiter herunter, indem er sagte, dass die Vorfälle für die USA recht unwichtig seien
Nachdem die Angriffe auf Tanker Trump nicht zu einem Krieg bewegt haben, dürften die nächste US-Argumente und „Beweise“ sich wohl auf das Atomprogramm des Iran beziehen, damit die Falken Trump endlich weichkochen können und er „ja“ zum Krieg sagt.

18. Juni: Medien melden „neue Beweise“ gegen Iran, dabei sind es die alten „Beweise“, nur diesmal in Farbe
Im Iran-Konflikt berichten die Medien heute über angebliche neue US-Beweise gegen den Iran. Abgesehen davon, dass es keine neuen Beweise sind, lassen die Medien dabei auch noch ein kleines, aber sehr interessantes Detail weg.
Nach allem, was ich herausfinden konnte, handelt es sich bei den „neuen Beweisen“ um die alten Beweise, nur eben diesmal in Farbe. Eine Originalquelle konnte ich nicht finden, weder beim Pentagon, noch bei Centcom. Woher also die Medien, die sich wahlweise auf das Pentagon, Centcom oder das „US-Militär“ allgemein berufen, die neuen Bilder haben, ist nicht zu erkennen.

17. Juni: Eskalation im Iran-Konflikt: Wie der Spiegel objektiv belegbar über das Atomabkommen lügt
Der Spiegel berichtet heute darüber, dass der Iran ankündigt, „schon bald gegen das internationale Atomabkommen zu verstoßen“. Das ist eine glatte Lüge, wie ein Blick in den Text des Abkommens zeigt.
Der Iran hatte am 8. Mai, genau ein Jahr, nachdem die USA das Atomabkommen mit dem Iran gebrochen haben, der EU 60 Tage Zeit gegeben, endlich ihre Verpflichtungen aus dem Abkommen zu erfüllen. Die EU tut das jedoch bis heute nicht. Die deutschen Medien geben sich seit dem alle Mühe, den Vertragsbruch der EU nicht zu erwähnen und stattdessen wahrheitswidrig den Iran zu beschuldigen.

Das russische Fernsehen hat in der Sendung „Nachrichten der Woche“ einen kurzen Beitrag über die von den USA in der Vergangenheit konstruierten Kriegsgründe gebracht und die Parallelen zur Situation mit dem Iran aufgezeigt.
Die Angriffe auf die Tanker im Golf von Oman ist nur ein amerikanischer Klassiker für den Beginn eines Krieges. Nach diesem Muster haben sich die Vereinigten Staaten schon vor hundert Jahren ausgetobt.
Aber die USA konstruieren, ohne sich bei irgendjemandem entschuldigt zu haben, bereits einen neuen Vorwand für einen Krieg, jetzt gegen den Iran.

16. Juni: Das russische Fernsehen über den Vorfall im Golf von Oman
In der russischen Sendung „Nachrichten der Woche“ hat das russische Fernsehen sich ausführlich mit dem Vorfall im Golf von Oman beschäftigt. Wenig überraschend steht für das russische Fernsehen fest, dass die USA dort eine False-Flag-Operation durchgeführt haben.
Am 14. machte Trump selbst direkt den Iran verantwortlich und präsentierte als Beweis ein unscharfes Video, auf dem unbekannte Personen auf einem unbekannten Boot in der Dunkelheit etwas an der hohen Bordwand eines unbekannten Schiffes tun. Wann die Aufnahmen gemacht wurden, ist nicht bekannt. Vielleicht vor 10 Jahren. Und es ist nicht klar, wer und womit gefilmt hat. Vielleicht sind es sogar gestellte Aufnahmen. Das US-Zentralkommando behauptet, dass das iranische Militär auf dem Video eine nicht explodierte Mine von der Bordwand des Tankers entfernt, um Spuren zu verwischen.
Es ist nicht klar, warum das iranische Militär die Mine abnehmen sollte. Wer hat sie überhaupt angebracht? Und was beweist überhaupt, dass Iraner auf dem Filmmaterial zu sehen sind? Absurd, aber für die USA ist dieses Filmmaterial das bisher stärkste Argument gegen den Iran.

Auch der chinesische Präsident scheint den USA kein Wort zu glauben. In Bischkek sagte er heute über das chinesische Verhältnis zum Iran:

Die USA beschuldigen nun offiziell den Iran, die Tanker im Golf von Oman angegriffen zu haben und legten „Beweise“ vor. Diese Beweise sollten wir uns also einmal genauer anschauen.
Die USA haben sich festgelegt: An den Angriffen auf die Tanker habe der Iran Schuld, denn er habe die Schiffe mit Haftminen angegriffen. Als „Beweis“ legte das US-Militär ein Video und zwei Fotos vor.
Das Video ist schwarz-weiß und von miserabler Qualität. Nach Angaben der USA zeigt es ein iranisches Boot, dessen Besatzung eine nicht explodierte Mine von einem der Tanker entfernt. Jeder kann sich davon selbst ein Bild machen, ich erkenne dort jedoch keine Mine.

Der Spiegel arbeitet dabei mit den Mitteln der Verharmlosung, der Desinformation und des Weglassens von wichtigen Informationen, wie ein Blick auf den Artikel zeigt.
Welche Rhetorik ist nun drastisch, lieber Spiegel? Die Drohung mit der Vernichtung eines ganzen Landes oder wenn das betroffene Land danach keine Lust hat, mit denen zu verhandeln, die mit Vernichtung drohen?

UAE: Not enough evidence to blame Gulf tanker attacks on Iran
'If other countries have clear information, I am sure the international community will easily listen to them,' says Emirati foreign minister on Wednesday
The United Arab Emirates Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed Al-Nahyan said on Wednesday that no country could be held responsible for the latest attacks on oil tankers in the Gulf.
Speaking during a press conference with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov in Moscow, Al-Nahyan said his country needs “clear and convincing evidence” regarding the recent attacks that targeted four vessels off the UAE coast last month, including two Saudi oil tankers.
US National Security Adviser John Bolton has said that attacks on oil tankers were the work of "naval mines almost certainly from Iran".
Saudi Arabia has also blamed Iran, but Tehran repeatedly denied the accusations.
The UAE, however, has not blamed anyone for the attack, which was followed two days later by drone strikes on oil pumping stations in Saudi Arabia.
On Wednesday, Al-Nahyan said that his country is involved in discussions to form an international alliance for maritime security in the Gulf region.
“If other countries have clear information, I am sure the international community will easily listen to them,” he said today.
“But we need to be very serious and keen on verifying that.”
My comment: This is very serious. The UAE obviously does not want war in the Gulf and clearly distances itself from all US and Saudi warmongering propaganda.
Comment by Judith Brown: This is a very interesting article where UAE says that there is not enough evidence to blame Iran for the attacks on the oil tankers in the Straights of Hormuz. Remember this happened in waters under UAE control and they were part of the investigation team so this is highly relevant. And also important is the UAE proximity to Iran - if a war broke out between USA and Iran UAE would be on a difficult position.

Instigators of a Persian Gulf Crisis
Putting sloppy, poorly designed “evidence” aside, recent history makes clear who the vested parties keen to stoke a manufactured hostility between Iran and its neighbors are. Indeed, one such actor has for decades used a comparable strategy of deliberate provocation to justify vicious military campaigns in Gaza and Lebanon, not unlike the agitation Iran is experiencing today.
The Israeli tactic has always been to make conditions so intolerable and unsustainable that a response of some kind by the affected group becomes inevitable.
Currently, the refrain and cause for action is that of Iran interfering in the internal affairs of its neighbors. Although an open discussion of Iran’s interests in the Arab world is not unreasonable, events on the ground preclude its realistic undertaking at present for it is Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates who are directly intervening in the affairs of Yemen with daily air raids.
The states who would like to see a war between Iran and the U.S. unfold are no mystery. As recent Middle East history teaches, the conflicts which have caused the most destruction and devastation have been at the hands of those who wanted to swallow Palestinian land, subjugate Lebanon, topple the Syrian leadership, restore the old guard in Iraq and install a pliant government in Yemen.
The instigators of the current Persian Gulf crisis, which if to get out of hand would lead to even greater tragedy, are one and the same.

In defence of Jeremy Corbyn's brave and lonely stand on calls for war against Iran
The Labour leader proved to be the voice of caution when the British political class have rushed towards war in the past
The Labour leader, Jeremy Corbyn, is once again in the doghouse with the British media and the political establishment.
His offence? Once again it’s for doing his job.
According to the political editor of the Sunday Times, Tim Shipman, Corbyn is speaking up for the "theocratic terrorists” of Tehran.
The purpose of my column this week is to come to the defence of Jeremy Corbyn. I believe that he is doing his job as leader of the opposition by standing aside from the growing clamour for war against Iran.
Corbyn is right to challenge claims emanating from the White House about Iran. His call for Britain to "act to ease tensions in the Gulf, not fuel a military escalation," is common sense.
Comment by Judith Brown: Corbyn is single minded and unambiguous in his calls for dialogue not war - EVERYWHERE. The Tories by comparison are schizophrenic- they oppose Trump as he dismantled the peace treaty with Iran, supported Trumo completely when he said that Iran was guilty of placing bombs on ships in the Hormuz Straights, and now are dithering when Trump calls for war on Iran between 'shall we do as he wants' or 'shall we do what's right'.

Iran will 'pay the price' if persists with aggression, Saudi minister tells Le Monde
Saudi Arabia’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs warned regional rival Iran there would be more sanctions if it continued its “aggressive polices”, but said Riyadh wanted to avoid war.
“Today, Iran is under severe economic sanctions,” Adel al-Jubeir told Le Monde newspaper in an interview published on Monday. “These sanctions will be strengthened. If Iran continues its aggressive policies, it will have to pay the price.”
My comment: This is told by the most aggressive state in the Middle East. LOL.

UAE calls for talks to defuse US-Iran tensions
The United Arab Emirates on June 23 called for negotiations to defuse tensions between the United States and Iran after Tehran shot down a U.S. drone.
"Tensions in the Gulf can only be addressed politically," Anwar Gargash, UAE minister of state for foreign affairs, wrote on Twitter.
He said the crisis in the Gulf region "requires collective attention, primarily to de-escalate and to find political solutions through dialogue and negotiations."

A Saudi intelligence chief pleaded with British authorities to carry out limited strikes against Iranian military targets, just hours after Donald Trump aborted planned US attacks against the Islamic Republic, a senior UK official told Middle East Eye.
The intelligence chief was accompanied by Saudi diplomat Adel al-Jubeir on his trip to London, the source said.
Still, the Saudi lobbying efforts fell on deaf ears, according to the source, who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the subject.
"Our people were sceptical," the source said, adding that the Saudi official was told a plain "no" in response to the request.

Am Donnerstagmorgen wurden zwei Chemikalientanker im Golf von Oman wenige Kilometer vor der iranischen Küste unter bislang noch ungeklärten Umständen attackiert. Die US-Regierung gab bereits wenige Stunden später Iran die Schuld und präsentierte ein verschwommenes „Beweisvideo“. Beweisen lässt sich mit diesem Video jedoch nichts und Staaten wie Japan und auch Deutschland haben ihre Skepsis bereits verlautbart. Vieles spricht dafür, dass das Video selbst eine Fälschung ist. Dann würden sich jedoch Fragen stellen, deren Konsequenzen die Weltöffentlichkeit sehr ernstnehmen müsste, will man einen drohenden Flächenbrand am Persischen Golf verhindern. Von Jens Berger.

Der Spiegel bemüht sich inzwischen täglich, den Iran im Streit um das Atomabkommen als Schuldigen dastehen zu lassen. Heute gab es dazu einen besonders perfiden Artikel, an dem ich aufzeigen möchte, mit welchen psychologischen Mitteln das gemacht wird.
Schon die Überschrift spricht Bände: „Teherans Atomdrohung – Irans Mister 20 Prozent“.
„Iran erwägt, künftig wieder Uran auf 20 Prozent anzureichern – ein möglicher erster Schritt auf dem Weg zur Atomwaffe. Den Europäern bleiben kaum Mittel, das Nuklearabkommen noch zu retten.“
Man beachte: Dass die USA mit ihrem Vertragsbruch an der Situation die Schuld tragen, findet sich weder in der Überschrift, noch in der Einleitung.Dort geht es um „Teherans Atomdrohung“ und um die armen Europäer, denen „kaum Mittel“ bleiben, „das Nuklearabkommen noch zu retten“. Und natürlich darf das Wort „Atomwaffe“ nicht fehlen, obwohl wir gleich sehen werden, dass die 20% nichts mit Atomwaffen zu tun haben.

Was die deutschen Medien über die aktuellen Vorfälle im Golf von Oman abliefern, spottet jeder Beschreibung und kann nur als Kriegspropaganda bezeichnet werden.
Die deutschen Medien stellen zunächst einmal nicht die Frage, wem die Anschläge auf die Tanker nutzen. Und wenn sie diese Frage doch mal einem „Experten“ stellen, dann hört man einen Blödsinn, der seinesgleichen sucht. Vor allem lohnt es sich immer, sich einmal den „Experten“ anzuschauen und wer ihn bezahlt.

Und natürlich werden wir in den nächsten Stunden und Tagen hören, dass dafür nur der Iran verantwortlich sein kann. Dabei sollte sich jeder denkende Mensch fragen, wozu der Iran das tun sollte, bzw. wer an einem Krieg im Golf interessiert ist.

ARD-Presseclub perfektioniert eine Methode der Manipulation: Alle in der Runde sind der gleichen Meinung. Dann muss es ja richtig sein.
Wenn Sie die Botschaft unter die Leute bringen wollen, beim gegenwärtigen Konflikt im Nahen Osten sei der Iran der Schurke, dann müssen Sie dafür sorgen, dass alle Teilnehmer einer Gesprächsrunde diese Botschaft vertreten. Wenn Sie unter die Leute bringen wollen, das Renteneintrittsalter liege viel zu niedrig, es müsse auf 67 oder gar 70 Jahre erhöht werden, dann müssen Sie eine Journalistenrunde zusammenholen, die einhellig diese These vertritt. Beides hat der ARD-Presseclub geschafft.
Am vergangenen Sonntag, am 23.6. saßen dort zwei Journalistinnen, zwei Journalisten und der Moderator Schönenborn zusammen. Thema: “Eskalation am Golf – Gefährdet Trump den Weltfrieden?“, die Gäste hier und hier das Video.
Es reicht, wenn Sie sich 15 Minuten anschauen. Bei Minute 7:19 stellt Schönenborn die Frage, wer der Schurke ist, wer die Guten und wer die Bösen sind. Und alle sagen: der Iran ist der Schurke.

To be clear, Iran was destabilizing the region before the Trump administration, and the nuclear agreement did not attenuate Iran’s behavior.
The problem with the Trump administration’s policy on Iran isn’t that it won’t go to war. It’s that it keeps constructing policies that require the use of military force to achieve objectives, when the president has repeatedly made clear he’s unwilling to take that step. The administration points a gun, but won’t pull the trigger, and that will encourage other adversaries to challenge America in other theaters.

Nicht nur die amerikanische Bevölkerung wird geschützt, wenn der Iran eingekesselt wird und seine Puppet Master erkennen werden, dass sie gegen eine großangelegte Koalition der Weltgemeinschaft keine Chance haben.
Auch wir in Europa profitieren selbstverständlich davon, wenn durch die Übermacht dieser Allianz klar wird, dass ein Krieg für die andere Seite aussichtslos wäre und nur zu unnötigen Verlusten führen würde.
Nun liegt es an den Europäern, zu entscheiden, wohin sie gehören. Unterstützen sie den Iran oder werden sie Teil einer Allianz der Stärke und verhindern somit womöglich einen völlig unnötigen Konflikt, der durchaus – bei all den Provokationen, die in dieser Region in letzter Zeit auftauchen – noch eskalieren könnte.
Wir, und besonders unser Land, Deutschland, müssen jetzt Farbe bekennen.
