Yemen's War: Domestic versus International Coverage
The situation in the Arab World’s poorest country is incredibly challenging to report on due to the conditions activists and journalists face.
Journalists in Yemen are faced with threats, indiscriminate bombing, and other acts of violence which not only affects them, but also family, friends and colleagues.
[On the problems and dangers journalists face in Yemen; on their work, the themes they work about, as examples for domestic and international journalists: Fatik al-Rodaini, Charlene Rodrigues] – by May Abou Amer

US stabs Saudi ‘ally’ in the back – again – with terror scapegoating
That Kosovo has become a hotbed of Islamic radicalism and a source of young militants going to Syria and Iraq to join the ranks of the Islamic State and other terrorist groups is not in dispute.
Nor is it in dispute that the Saudis and other Gulf Arab states have pumped millions of dollars into the Balkan territory to promote their version of Islamic fundamentalism – Wahhabism – which is correlated with extremist groups.
All that is true. But it’s a bit rich for elite US opinion to lump all the blame for Kosovo’s tribulations at the feet of Arab allies.
After all, it was Washington that created the failed state of Kosovo in the first place when it agitated for its secession from Serbia in 2008 – by Finian Cunningham

Hillary Clinton’s war crimes are unforgivable. No real progressive could ever support her.
When taking a closer look at US foreign policy under her leadership as the nation’s top diplomat, it’s obvious that Clinton could potentially be as disastrous as Trump if given the position of Commander-in-Chief.
Here are a few examples of countries where conditions are tremendously worse as a result of Hillary Clinton’s policies.

Gulf Research Center Rebuffs UN report on civil casualties in Yemen
Dr. Abdulaziz bin Othman bin Saqr, President of the Gulf Research Center said the perpetual killing of Yemeni civilians, particularly children, results from arbitral shelling coming from rebel forces on civil-populated area in Yemen.
He defended the coalition forces as organized and systematic when they use attacking armament in addition to their well-trained forces in comparison of the militias fighting a guerilla war.
He added that the objective of the coalition forces is to defend the civilians and not to harm them, a reason behind cancelling many air raids every day to avoid falling in the vicinity of residential complexes.
He concluded that the coalition forces have convinced the world of its humanitarian intentions, citing the relief and humanitarian assistance being delivered to the needy in Yemen in millions of US dollars.

Saudi-led coalition rejects UN blacklisting over Yemen
"The report is imbalanced and does not rely on credible statistics, nor does it serve the Yemeni people," coalition spokesman Brigadier General Ahmed Assiri told the official Saudi Press Agency.
"It misleads the public with incorrect numbers and mostly relies on information from sources associated with the Huthi militia and the deposed (former Yemeni president Ali Abdullah) Saleh," he said.
Assiri said the coalition was in Yemen to "protect the Yemeni people, including children, from the actions of the Huthi militia."
He cited a $30 million Saudi aid programme for Yemen launched in cooperation with the UN children's fund (UNICEF).

The Kingdom has denounced the UN report which included the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen on the blacklist of child rights violators.
